CGC Trade Data allows members to generate customized statistics on the value and volume of international trade in Canadian grains and oilseeds and primary processed products.

Statistics Canada data retrieved from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s CATSNET Analytics database. The current data is from April 24, 2023. No HS codes are displayed for products with no export or import data.

Data is classified by Harmonized System (HS) codes with the following commodity groups provided for user convenience. The Harmonized System is a standardized numerical method used internationally for classifying traded products.

When selecting “Volume” under “Quantity” please note that the units reported for different products may be different. Wheat (including Durum), barley and rye grains are reported in metric tons. Alcohol and alcoholic beverages are reported in litres or litres of pure alcohol. Most, but not all other commodities are reported in kilograms. If your data query includes products with different units of measure a popup message will advise you.

When selection crop year as the year type note that for corn and soybeans the crop year is from September 1 to August 31 for all other crops and commodities, it is from August 1 to July 31. If your data query includes products with different crop years a popup message will advise you.
